My Mission
Since establishing the Venue in 1996, my guiding mission has been to deliver outstanding hair care services, centered around creative expression, high-quality work, and individualized attention. My goal has always been to enhance the distinct style and beauty of each client in an environment that is both intimate and professional. I'm proud to say that I have steadfastly upheld this mission, and it remains my guiding principle to this day.

My Background
Jody attended Avant Garde College of Cosmetology in Myrtle Beach, SC, graduating in 1991. After working at a salon and spa in Myrtle Beach upon graduation, Jody moved to Charlotte in 1992 and joined the team at Carmen Carmen Salon where she was trained in both Vidal Sassoon and Toni & Guy methods. During her four years at Carmen Carmen, Jody was a member of the Artistic Team. Her role on the team entailed training new stylists, working on photo shoots, and performing on stage at hair shows. She also styled hair for local television and video shoots.
In 1996, Jody left Carmen Carmen to start The Venue. Since starting her own salon, Jody has also been an educator for Wella Color, an educator for Keune Color, and is qualified as a master colorist. She continually attends classes, seminars, and other education courses to keep her skills at the highest level.
A native North Carolinian, Jody is from Brevard, NC. She currently lives in Carolina Beach, NC with her daughter, Devin and husband, Chris.

stylist, Jody's journey behind the chair
while raising her daughter has not only
shaped her into a proficient artist but
has also equipped her with valuable life
skills and a transformational ability to
listen and learn. Drawing from her
extensive career and life experiences,
Jody seamlessly transitioned into a
compassionate life coach, utilizing the
interpersonal and empathetic skills
honed during her time in the salon and
while ceaselessly advocating for Devin’s
well-being. Jody O’Dell’s story is a
testament to the transformative power
of motherhood and the ability to
leverage diverse experiences into a
meaningful and fulfilling vocation.
